From its inception Mudshark Brewery and Public House in Lake Havasu City, Arizona has been a trendsetter and now we are going for the gold. In August of this year our BUZZ Honey Lager was awarded the Silver Medal at the National Honey Board’s acclaimed Honey Beer Competition.
The accomplishment was noteworthy on several levels. We were the only Arizona based brewery to earn a medal at this event. That win gave our brewery national recognition, and as a result, placed the Grand Canyon state’s craft beer industry in the spotlight. It also illustrates our commitment to the crafting of unique beers that blur the line between traditional and innovative.
This acclaimed beer is now available at a number of locations in nortwestern Arizona. You can even savor a glass of Buzz Honey Lager at Sportsman’s Lounge, a territorial era saloon along Route 66 in Kingman, Arizona.
But the brewing of quality beer is not our only claim to fame. Since 2011 we have used Lake Havasu City’s most plentiful resource to brew our beers. In 2018 at the Brews From The Sun competition we were recognized as “America’s Favorite Solar Craft Brewery.” At that event we were competing against 41 breweries from twenty-one states.
But we not know for resting on our laurels. The BUZZ Honey Lager brewed using honey from Oatman, Arizona, a ming camp turned destination for legions of Route 66 enthusiasts, is just the beginning. We are currently working to develop a series of beers linked to Route 66. What better way to celebrate that storied highways centennial in 2026. Linked to this project are discussions about Route 66 marketing and promotion with author, humorist and historian Jim Hinckley, creator of the Jim Hinckley’s America network.
And this month we introduced two new seasonal brews that are garnering wonderful reviews. OktoberFest captures the spirit of the changing seasons and is a tribute to traditional German beers.
Peaceful Pumpkin is a taste sensation that will have you thinking about Thanksgiving, Christmas, the holiday season, and family gatherings. This creamy and smooth golden brown brew gives a sweet smell of fresh baked pumpkin pie.
And we have a few other beers that hint of fall and the holidays to come. Peach Lunacy has hints of vanilla, honey and peach. Bustin Nuts is a rich blend of chestnut and maple flavor. Vanila Caramel Porter offers a heady blend of coffee, caramel, vanilla, and chocolate.
But a good beer deserves a tasty meal, and too is our specialty. Likewise with tasty appetizers perfect for sharing with friends.
Read the reviews for our chilled spinach dip with artichoke served on fresh artisan bread. And our gourmet pizzas are perfect when paired with a Scorpion Amber beer.
So, the next time you are looking to make memories with friends or celebrate a special occassion stop by Mudshark Brewery and Public House with its million dollar views of Lake Havasu and Lake Havasu City.
